A WAY OF SEEING

Observe first.
Interpret later.

Most of us learn to explain the world before we ever learn to observe it.

We decide what something means.

We choose a side.

We give it a label.

Then we stop looking.

Liminal begins somewhere else.

It begins with observation.

Not because observation is always right.

Because observation comes before understanding.

Reality exists before we explain it.

People exist before we describe them.

Moments exist before we understand them.

That order matters.

Most of life is not lived at the milestones.

It is lived in the ordinary moments between them.

The conversation before the first kiss.

The pause before the answer.

The extra minute before someone leaves.

The wrong turn that becomes everyone’s favorite memory.

These moments rarely announce themselves.

Later, they become the part people remember.

Liminal is not a collection of rules.

It is not a personality test.

It is not another system for deciding who people are.

It is a way of paying attention.

A reminder that meaning usually arrives after observation, not before it.

Observe first.

Interpret later.

Everything else begins there.
